One week after leaving the hospital, I went to see Dr. Patdu, my oncologist, to ask her about the results of the analysis of the cancer cells they had collected in the surgery and the future treatment plan based on them. There are various types (sub-types) of breast cancer and treatment plans are divided according to what causes cancer cells to proliferate.
My breast cancer was the most common sub-type of breast cancer, which is grown by female hormones.Dr. Patdu explained that in addition to oral hormones and molecular targeted drugs, treatment to suppress ovarian function is necessary to prevent recurrence and she presented three options for doing so.

1.injection to suppress ovarian function (once every 4 weeks)
2.radiation to the ovaries
3.ovarian resection surgery

I was strongly shocked to see "ovarian resection surgery" among the options.Just a few weeks ago, I had a total left breastectomy, and now another surgery?Do you cut out even the unproblematic ovaries?
I thought I knew that treatment for breast cancer did not end with surgery alone, but when I heard about the treatment plan,I felt like I had been dropped into a bottomless pit.

Seeing me stunned, Dr. Patdu said,“You don't have to decide today which of the three options you want to start treatment with." I could barely respond, "I will decide after consulting with my surgeon, Dr. Valencia.”
I consulted with Dr. Valencia and he said,"You just had the surgery, so it's not a good idea to have another one right away. You need to focus on recovering your strength for at least three months."
I was relieved to find out that I would not have to think about an ovarian resection surgery for a while.

Then,my drug treatment began with injection to suppress ovarian function.I was a little nervous when I saw the thick needle injected into my abdomen, but Dr. Patdu seemed to be accustomed to this injection, and it was over in an instant, without much pain. I thought, "Oh, this is so easy," but I was naive.
The day after the injection, my body, especially my lower abdomen, was so heavy that I could not stand up. Holding my stomach and lying down all day long, I realized that cancer treatment is not easy at all.

A few days later, I had an appointment for an IV drip to counteract the bone metastasis of my cancer.

PCR testing in Manila at that time

At that time (January 2022), negative proof of PCR testing within three days was mandatory to enter the ward where the patient receive the infusion. The covid mutation strain Omicron was raging in the Philippines then.
The day I went to the hospital for the PCR, I had a bad feeling.I had a runny nose, a slight sore throat, and cold-like symptoms. And my husband seemed to have more severe symptoms than I. He had a fever and was in bed.
While not feeling well, I managed to get to the hospital. My PCR test result there was positive.I was infected with Covid.I had predicted this, but I was shocked.Under Manila's rules at the time, if you were infected with Covid, you were quarantined at home for two weeks and could not step out of your house.

I had just undergone surgery for breast cancer and my strength was still weak.Diagnosed with metastasis in the bone, but could not get treatment in the hospital because of quarantine for at least two weeks. My husband, whom I relies on, was in bed.

“Why am I going through this?”
Unconsciously, I mumbled, "My life is the worst than ever."

Just then, someone messaged me for the first time in a long time. It was Dinah, the founder of the yoga studio where I used to teach. She was a top sales person at a US-based IT company and then started her own IT venture. Later, she fell in love with yoga and founded a yoga studio, which she grew into the largest chain of yoga studios in Manila. She was a godmother figure in Manila's yoga community, having trained many yoga teachers with rigor and warmth.

Dinah's yoga studio(before pandemic)

However, after the pandemic forced all yoga studios in Manila to shut down, she left Manila and moved to the mountainous region of Luzon, Philippines. For the past year or so, she and I have been apart.

In the message, she said,“are you interested in Energy Healing? Certified healer/trainer course in energy healing will be starting soon, would you like to try it?"
I had no idea what energy healing was all about, though,it was obvious that I was in no condition to take the course.I replied to her.”I think I need healing myself now more than to become a healer. I just had surgery for breast cancer and also got a Covid.”
Dinah responded immediately.“I'll introduce you to a healer who is experienced in cancer treatment. You should have a consultation with her first. The first consultation is free."

At the rock bottom of my life, I encountered energy healing. In retrospect, it was an optimally timed encounter.

Because I have always had a hard time with "spiritual" things.I myself was a yoga teacher and also practiced meditation, but I felt that people who were in the business of something spiritual were suspicious and I distanced myself from them. So, if not at this time,I would never have thought to try energy healing system that has not yet been proven by modern science and that transcends common sense.
But I was at the bottom of my life, and I was inclined to clutch at straws and rely on whatever might help me.At the time, my normal thought process had stopped.I was in such a state of shock that my common sense was blown away.

My energy healing Master,Master Del Pe, often says that "common sense can be helpful, but it can also get in the way of new learning.”

There are many things that have not yet been proven by science, and just because something has not been proven by science does not mean that it does not exist. But many people have a hard time accepting what has not been proven by science, what transcends common sense.
Thanks to my common sense being blown out,I decided to resort to energy healing.I didn't really know what it was, though.

When I thought my life was at its worst, that was my turning point.
