2022年2月26日に開催した「第1回W-WANおしゃべり会：夫婦別姓－各国事情」では、韓国、中国、シンガポール、イラン、コロンビア、ドイツ、日本出身・在住のW-WANメンバーがそれぞれの国の夫婦別姓をめぐる事情を紹介しました。 そのなかから今回は韓国の事情について、おしゃべり会でのお話をまとめ追記したものをご紹介します。 ------------------------------ 夫婦別姓－韓国の事情 韓国では、夫婦が別姓を使う。韓国女性は結婚しても、自分の父親の姓(旧姓）を使うのだが、これは女性の地位が高いからではなく、家族の一員として嫁を認めない伝統的な慣習に基づいている。では、子供の姓はどうか。現在、韓国の民法では、夫婦の合意がある時、子供に母親の姓をつけることが可能だが、普通、子供は父親の姓を使う。子供が大人になってから、自分の姓を母親の姓に変えたい時は、簡単には変えられない。 戸主制との闘い 子孫は父系を継承するものとみなし、父姓のみを名乗らせる、これ
